Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure ling life and high reliability by providing the first and second concentric cylindrical shields having bottom plate in proximity of a high-tension cylindrical conductor for the equalization of potential distribution in each resistor unit.
CONSTITUTION: The high-tension cylindrical conductor 7 is inserted into between the high-tension conductor 5 and uppermost nonlinear resistor 3 to divide great numbers of resistors into the units 3, for example. And, the bottom plate X inserted into and the cylinder Y formed integrally with the divided unit are provided with the first and second concentric cylindrical shields 8 and 9 in such a way that they surround the cylindrical conductor 7 in close proximity. The third concentric cylindrical shield 10 having the bottom plate X inserted by and connected to the high- tension conductor 5 is provided in close proximity of the cylinder Y of the first cylindrical shield 8 in such a way that it partially surrounds the cylinder Y. Thus, it is possoble to equalize the potential distrubition in each unit and thus to obtain a long-lived, highly reliable lightning arrestor
