Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of correlators to the half to simplify a hardware constitution by adopting a unique word having the same bit sequence to two channels in a four-phase modulation and demodulation-system receiver. CONSTITUTION:Bit sequences of different receiving channels are inputted to terminals 1a and 1b, and two channels are subjected to correlation detection by correlators 8 and 9 dependent upon the bit sequence of the same unique word. This output is discriminated in threshold detectors 6a and 6b after addition in adder 4 and subtraction in subtacter 5, and is outputted to terminals 7a and 7b. Synchronization is established by this output signal, and simultaneously, one state which this synchronization belongs to is detected in four states where synchronization can be established, thereby making it possible to resolve four kinds of positional uncertainties.
