Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover the heat of a high-temperature gas in a steady state and reduce troubles due to dust, etc., by cooling and washing the high-temperature gas emitted from a gasifier directly, and by recirculating the raw heavy oil and heavy tar used for washing throgh a cooler.
CONSTITUTION: Coal and haevy oil (petroleum and/or coal types are fed from the raw material feed pipe 1 to the reactor 2 in a slurry state, partly burnt into a light oil. The resulting high-temperature gas is fed from the outlet pipe 5 to the cooler 6, and the heavy tar is cooled by the circulating heavy oil, washed and condensed, then drawn from the pipe 7. After removing the amount to be mixed with coal, the rest of the heavy tar is fed to the heavy oil cooler 10 and cooled to effect the steady heat recovery, then to the cooler 6 via the circulation feed pipe 11 to cool the high-temperature gas, and condense the heavy tar, thus collecting the dust carried by the gas. The raw heavy oil is heated with a high-temperature heavy tar without causing coking, thus reducing the dust content
