Abstract
PURPOSE: To readily obtain two or more kinds of information and make possible relative comparison for each by ionizing the sample at each of plural ionization modes which are changed over in a time sharing manner and performing mass number scanning at each ionization mode.
CONSTITUTION: According to the change-over timings of an electron impulse ionization method (FI) and a chemical ionization method (I), a changeover command part 8 program-controls an ion source control part 5, a reacion gas feed part 6 and a scanning part 7, then in the period of CI, a reacion gas is supplied from the reaction gas feed part 6 and is ionized in the ion source 1. The ions are then introduced into an analysis tube 2 and are subjected to magnetic field scanning by a magnet 3 by which the specific ions are separated and are next introduced into a detector 4, the ion detection signal whereof is recorded as a mass spectrum in a recorder 11. Said signal is also recorded in a recorder 15 via integrator 13 and holding amplifier 14 as chromatogram. Similar opetation salso take place in the period of EI
