Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep a compressor properly cooled at all times by providing a piping connecting the cooling port of an exterior heat exchanger and the central part of an injection pipe pressure reducing system through a check valve.
CONSTITUTION: In the cooling mode, the refrigerant flows along the piping as shown by the arrows of continuous lines. The pressure of a point N on the cooling port side of an exterior heat exchanger 13 is a little higher than that of an intermediate point L. Accordingly, the high pressure refrigerant flows from the point N through a check valve 22 and a second injection capillary tube 20 and injected into the compressor 11. In the heating mode, the refrigerant flows along the piping as shown by the arrows of dotted lines. In this case, the pressure at the point L being higher than the pressure at the point N, the high pressure refrigerant flows from the point L through a first and second capillary tubes 21 and 21 into the compressor 11. The injection flow rate is increased in the cooling mode and reduced in the heating mode by properly selecting the flow resistance of the first injection capillary tube 21
