Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the transmission cost with the reduced transmission volume for the unit time of signals, by decreasing the number of the sampling points of a picture by making the density of an output picture elements higher than that of sampling picture elements. CONSTITUTION:Apertures in the main scanning direction of image sensor IS are divided uniformly on a unit of (ax), and apertures in the sub-scanning direction are on two kinds of units of (by) and (cy). Then, IS sample regions (x1) and (x2) as one sampling picture element and after this signal is picture-processed, the output picture is outputted with the picture-element density three times as high as a sampling picture on the average.
