Abstract

PURPOSE: A coagulated layer from an optically anistropic dope of poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide is laminated with another coagulated layer from an optically isotropic dope to produce title heat-resistat composite film with high longitudinally tearing strength, excellent electric properties and high transparency.
CONSTITUTION: (A) an optically anistropic dope consisting of an aromatic polyamide with carbon ring that contains 85 mol% or more p-phenylene terephthalamide as recurring structural unit and (B) another optically isotropic unit are laminated into a plurality of thin layers and coagulated. The laminated film is washed, dried, when necessary, heat treated to produce the objective film.
