Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the lowering of SO2 absorption efficiency and to effectively utilize absorbent by the method in which NH3 is added to an exhaust gas absorbent liquid containing both SO2 and HCL to eliminate the effects of HCL on a Ca- absorbent, and an alkalineagent is added to the desulfurization waste water to recover NH3 by aeration.
CONSTITUTION: A combustion exhaust gas containing both SO2 and HCL is cooled to a predetermined temparature by cooling water at the line 21 in the gas cooling tower 10, and then introduced through the line 12 to the absorption tower 30. To the absorption tank 40, a make-up lime stone from the line 44 and NH3 from the line 45 are respectively supplied, and to the tower 30, an absorbent liquid containing NH3 is supplied through the line 41. The harmful substance, CaCL2, present in absorbent liquid is converted into the harmless substance, NH4CL. A part of absorbent liquid is transferred through the line 43 to the NH3 recovery tank 50, where Ca(OH)2 or CaCO3 from the line 51 is added to the liquid to decompose the NH4CL. The NH3 so regenerated is aerated by air from the line 52 and gas containing NH3 is absorbed throug theline 54 into the tank 40
