Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a product with high sensitivity and high reliability still easy to manufacture, by providing a tertiary coil in the zero-phase current transformer core, with a power-factor improving condenser connected to said tertiary coil.
CONSTITUTION: A leak detectro comprises a zero-phase current transformer 1, for detecting an earth current in the cirucit, and a closed electromagnet 2, that disconnects the circuit by producing a mechanical force from said current transformer secondary output voltage to actuate a trip mechanism. Both ends 11 and 12 of a secondary coil 3 in the zero-phase current transformer 1 are connected to an ex- citation coil 5 of the closed electromagnet 2. And in the zero-phase current transformer 1, is differently provided a tertiary coil 9 with a condenser 10 connected to between its both ends 13 and 14. If generated an earth current in the circuit, a voltage is produced in the secondary coil 3, with the trip mechanism in the breaker actuated by a mechanical force caused in the closed electromagnet 2.
