Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a zigzag form multi-stylus head with good accuracy by opposedly forming plural conductor patterns as recording styli on a flexible substrate surface, bending this at the center via insulation laye then bonding the same and removing the bent end part. CONSTITUTION:Plural recording stylus forming patterns are opposedly provided by spacing from the center line of a master film respectively by a spacing l/2 and deviating their pitches by half in mutually opposite directions. Next, the abovementioned master film is contacted on a flexible printed substrate 13 coated with photosensitive agents and is then photoetched to form conductive patterns 14, 15 for making desired multipolar recording styli on the substrate 13. Next, reinforcing metal thin-films 9, 10 are bonded on the back of the substrate 13 by spacing these from the centerline XY respectively by L/2, after which the substrate is bent along the centerline XY via spacer 11 and the folded substrates are aligned by using holes 18, 18'. Following to this, the recording stylus portions are resin-molded, after which the portion near the central line XY is polished away to expose the recording stylus ends, whereby the recording head is obtained.
