Abstract
PURPOSE:To constitute the mixer effectively with a simple shape and constitution, by forming the position relation in which the signal rectangular waveguide and the local oscillation input rectangular wavequide and in defferent direction each other and the openings are orthogonal each other. CONSTITUTION:The signal input waveguide 1 and the local oscillation input waveguide 13 are constituted with rectangular waveguide respectively, they have commonly the openings 12 and are located orthogonal direction each other, and the waveguides 1 and 13 are coupled so that the direction of the linger axis of the cross section is mutually orthogonal, and further, the electric fields 17 and 18 due to the both waveguides are located orthogonal each other, and the ends 19 and 20 are closed except the part of the opening 12. The magnetic field 15 caused in the waveguied 13 generates the leakage magnetic field 16 to the waveguide 1 through the opening 12. The short rod 11 interlinking with the magnetic field 16 is placed in parallel with the sectional length axis of the waveguide 1 and the distance 11 between the opening 12 and the short rod 11 is made suitable, allowing to induce electromotiveforce in the shirt rod 11 by the magnetic field 16 and to flow required current to the mixer diode 8. Thus, output is made from the intermediate frequency output terminal 10, and the mixer can effectively be constituted.
