Abstract
PURPOSE: TO provide a screw feeder, in which grooves are formed in the inner surface of the outer sleeve in which screw is extended, whereby it is enabled to feed muddy viscous material positively, without causing loading of said material in the spaces between adjacent blads of the screw.
CONSTITUTION: Screw of the feeder is constituted by winding blade 4 helically around a shaft 3, and outer sleeve 1 in which said screw is to be extended is formed with projections 2 on its inner surface, or otherwise formed with grooves 2. These grooves 2 are made to extend helically in the same direction to the blade 4 of the screw or in opposite direction to the same. With such an arrangement, material to be transported can be agitated between the screw and the internal wall of the sleeve 1, so that it can be transported smoothly without being loaded between the spaces formed between adjacent turns of blade 4 and without causing slippage relative to the wall surface
