Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the luminescent quantity of a flash lamp without directly detecting the voltage of a high voltage portion for the flash lamp. CONSTITUTION:A secondary winding of a leakage transformer 2 for boosting, to which an AC power source 1 is input, is divided into two sections of N1 and N2, a flash lamp 4 is connected to N1 through a rectifier 3 and a condenser C1 while a condenser C2 is coupled with N2 through a rectifier 3', a resistance R2 and a comparator 6 are connected to the condenser C2, and a switching element 7 mounted to the primary side of the leakage transformer 2 is controlled by the output of the comparator 6 so that the charge voltage of the condenser C2 by maintained at a fixed level. In the figure, 5 is a trigger circuit, which utilizes one portion of the charging electric charge of the condenser C1 and is subject to trigger signals from the outside to make the flash lamp 4 luminesce, and 8 a power source for a control circuit.
