Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an automatic ghost elimination circuit which can carry out algorism effectively in case the residual ghost in the video signal is detected and then a digital control is given to the coefficient value of the coefficient circuit to reduce the residual ghost down to zero. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate frequency amplification output in the video signal is compounded with the direct wave and the ghost wave and undergoes the phase detection by two detection axis signals of different phases which are obtained by extracting the carrier wave. The two output are added together via each coefficient circuit and then delayed to be added with the detection output of one side. As a result, both the in-phase component and the orthogonal component of the ghost wave can be eliminated. Coefficient value setting circuit 14a and 14b function as the reversible counters to observe the sampling signals of output signals v1 and v2. And if the sampling signals are positive, they are applied to count-down input CD; while the negative signals are applied to count-up input CU respectively. Thus, coefficient circuit 6A and 6B are controlled, and AND circuit 16A and 16B plus 17A and 17B detect the maximum and minimum value each.
