Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize both reduction of the lead-in time of AGC and stability of the operation by giving the phase branching to the output of the variable gain amplifier and then giving the gain control via the square sum of the output of the phase branching. CONSTITUTION:The reception wave is supplied to 90 deg.-phase differential branching filter 13 via variable gain amplifier 2, and the signals featuring the phases by 90 deg. are squared each at squaring sum circuit 6 to obtain the sum. Then those signals are changed into the output signals. This sum signal is then supplied to gain control circuit 9 via switch 7. And if the sum signal is larger than the reference value TH, the gain of amplifier 2 is reduced by the output of circuit 9 to complete the lead-in of AGC. Then the data supplied receive synchronous detection via amplifier 2, and the reproduction of the data is carried out through decision circuit 11. The sum signal from circuit 6 as well as the reproduction signal are multiplied 8 and then supplied to circuit 9 via switch 7. As a result, the gain control is possible for amplifier 2 in the quick and steady way.
