Abstract

PURPOSE: The title composition having improved dimensional stability of parisons in a molten state, and thermal stability and mechanical properties, comprising an epoxy group-containing copolymer and a trifunctional organic phosphorus compound.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100 parts by wt. of an aromatic polyester, preferably polybutylene terephthalate, is melt kneaded homogeneously with (B) 1W40 parts by wt., preferably 3W30 parts wt., of a copolymer consisting of an epoxy group-containing unsaturated monomer, e.g. glycidyl acrylate, of the formula (R is hydrocarbon group having one ethylenically unsaturated group) and other unsaturated monomers, e.g. ethylene, and (C) 0.05W10 parts by wt., preferably 0.1W5 parts by wt., of a trifunctional organic phosphorus compound of the formula PR1R2R3 (R1, R2, and R3 are aliphatic, aromatic, alicyclic, or alkoxy groups) above the melting point of the polyester by means of an extruder.
