Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a safety system for elevator for protecting the same from earthquake or the like, in which sliding elements of the elevator are interconnected with each other by means of links so as to prevent disengagement of the sliding elements from their guide rails.
CONSTITUTION: Frame 15 with counterweight 20 is connected to a hoisting machine by wires 17 and springs 16. In order to guide vertical movement of the frame 15 along guide rails 11, 12, there are provided slinding members 21, 22 which are coupled with respective intermediate elements 25, 26 by intermeidary of springs 23, 24 and stoppers 27, 28. Further arms 36AW36D pivotally connected to the intermediate elements 25, 26 are interconnected with the slinding members 21, 22 by means of links 35AW35D which are pivotally connected to frame 15. With such an arrangement, if guide rail 11 is displaced to the right by reason of earthquake or other, springs 23 are deflected to the right while absorbing the vibrational force. Resultantly, intermediate element 26 is moved to the left via arms 33A, 33B, links 35A, 35B, arms 36A, 36B are push metals 38A, 38B, and sliding member 22 is moved to the left, whereby disengagement of slinding member 22 from its guide rail 12 can be prevented positively.
