Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform high precision machining with zero deflection of workpiece by detecting the distortion of a center holding workpiece and accurately and automatically giving a contact point reaction force equivalent to grinding force.
CONSTITUTION: The grinding of workpiece 5 by an abrasive wheel 3 produces grinding force to cause distortion of workpiece 5, and a main shaft center 1 and a tail stock center 2 are displaced in X, Y directions. The displacement is detected by contact type sensors 4aW4d, whose detected value is input into an operation circuit 11, where standard values and detected ones are compared; its deviation signal opens or closes a servo-valve 14, giving force to workpiece 5 through hydraulic cylinders 7aW7d, rest-shoes 6aW6d to make the deviation value zero and compensate the deflection.
