Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure measurement of the ground speed for the measured mobile object while the measurement mobile object is running in an optional speed by calculating the ground speed of the measured mobile object based on the ground speed of the measurement mobile object and the relative speed between the measurement and measured objects. CONSTITUTION:The electric wave of a fixed frequency is emitted to measured car from antenna 11 mounted on measurement car 16, and relative speed A is measured by relative speed measurement device 13 based on the drift of the frequency of the reflected wave. On the other hand, ground speed B of car 16 is measured via ground speed measurement device 17 based on the wheel revolution speed of car 16, and then ground speed C of car 16 is calculated as C=A+B via arithmetic unit 18. As a result, car 16 can measure the ground speed of car 2 while running in an optional speed, thus enabling a long-time measurement of the speed. Furthermore, the range of the measurement objects can be increased conveniently.
