Abstract
PURPOSE: To contrive the improvement of the welding efficiency, without necessity of the spacer fittable to the diameter of the material to be welded, by appropriately arranging the spacer plate provided with specially shaped lower surface and the pressure adjusting mechanism for the special shielding parts, in the titled shielding device.
CONSTITUTION: At the middle of the spacer plate 2 of the titled shielding device, the slit 1 for passing the electron beam B is formed; and at the lower part, the rectangular box type structure 3 is formed into one body. The leg 7 of above structure 3 is put on the surface of the material 5 to be welded; and the rising piece 7' of the frame type shielding parts 7 made of the heat resisting rubber, etc., of L-type section, is fixed to the fringe of the leg 6; the horizontal plane 7" is arranged so as to thrust the surface of the material 5 to be welded; and the air hose 10, being connected to the compressor within the square frame type, looking down U-type, holding parts 8, is pressed by the pressure adjusting mechanism 9, etc., being driven by the oil pressure, etc. The inside of the structure 3 is maintained at vacuum, and the seam welding is executed by the electron beam. According to this method, the welding efficiency is improved without necessity of the spacer fittable to the diameter of the material to be welded.
