Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare leaf tobacco having improved flavor and taste free from undesirable qualities such as irritant taste, ill odor, unsavory taste, etc., with reduced production cost, by adding specific bacteria to low-grade leaf tobacco, midribs of tobacco leaves, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Low-grade tobacco comprising low grade leaf tobacco, midribs of tobacco leaves, etc., containing 15W50 wt% of moisture, is added with Bacillus megaterium (NH5 strain) or Bacillus subtilis (TP3 strain), and stored at 15W50°C for 1W10 days.
