Abstract
PURPOSE:To inform the user of the arrive of battery life by so arranging the watch that the minute hand moves stepwise at each 5 minutes when the voltage of its supply battery has dropped in the dual hands type electronic watch. CONSTITUTION:While battery voltage is in a normal state, e.g., a 1-Hz signal is inputted from a frequency divider 22 to a driving circuit 28 through line 27 to operate a step motor 29 once a second. The minute hand is also operated normally. When a signal is emitted from a battery voltage detecting circuit 30 and a detection signal is outputted at each 5 minutes from a minute hand position detector 36 upon dropping of the battery voltage, a flip-flop 42 is set and a changeover signal is outputted to the line 43. The 32-Hz signal from the line 44 is then inputted to the motor driving circuit 28, by which the minute hand is moved for 5 minutes at a stroke, after which it is held stopped for 5 minutes by the signal from a coincidence detecting circuit 35.
