Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the number of the elements by analyzing the transmission function of the digital filter into the form of a proper product with its corresponding constitution secured and at the same time inserting a fixed number of the sampling circuit into the intermediate step of the filter. CONSTITUTION:When the tap number of the digital filter is referred to as N, transmission function H (Z) is shown by Eq. 1 where Z = e<jomegat> is satisfied, omega is the angular frequency and ai is the tap coefficient each. Eq. 1 is analyzed to be expressed by Eq. 2 as long as the ratio of ai is identical to each other. In this case, however, N = NO.N' is satisfied. If cO = 1 is satisfied in that constitution, both the adder and the multiplier can be reduced in number down to (NO - 1) + (N' - 1) units and NO + N' - 1 units respectively, with the delay unit reduced down to N - 1 units. Here, sampling circuit RSP is inserted into the intermediate step of the filter, and as a result the delay unit can be reduced greatly down to SIGMA<k>j = 1 (Mj-1) + N' - 1 units, where Mj is the common measure between tap number N and cull-out coefficient and T is the coefficient of the input signal of RSP.
