Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide back-flush to a filter in a waste water disposal plant without using a large quantity of cleansing water or without giving retreatment of the water being used for the back-flush, by adopting a pressurized gas for the back-flush to eliminate contaminants stuck on the filter.
CONSTITUTION: The original water pressurized and supplied to a header 2 is filtered by a filter 1, and stored in another header 5, then it flows out as treated water through a pipe 5 which has a solenoid valve 6 being open. Pressure in the header 2 increases as the contaminants continue to accumulate on the filter 1, and a detector 11 closes the valve 6 and opens another solenoid valve 8 to supply a high pressure gas from a compressor 7 to the header 5. The pressure of the header 5 is detected by a detector 12, which opens a solenoid valve 9. When a pinch valve 10 is quickly opened, the filter is given the back-flush due to the force of the pressurized gas being released to the atmosphere.
