Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the simplification of constitution by making common use of a light scanning optical system in original reading and writing.
CONSTITUTION: A modulator 19 and coupler 20 connected with high frequency oscillators 22, 23 which output powers of different frequencies are connected through an amplifier 21 to the acousto-optic optical modulator 5 constituting the light scanning optical system with a laser light source 1, a beam expander 2, lenses 3, 4, cylindrical lens 6, rotary polyhedral mirror 7, f.θ lens 8, etc. Then the zero order light not diffracted and two kinds of diffracted beams of different angles of deflection are emitted from the acousto-optic optical modulator 5 and the zero order light is cut by a knife edge. At the same time two kinds of the diffracted beams are separated after the f.θ lens 8, one of these being directed to a photosensitive drum 18 and the other to the original 12 via stationary mirror 9 and vibrating mirror 10.
