Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible higher coupling efficiency and radiation of micro spot light by providing holes for inserting optical fibers to the substrate of a semiconductor light source array in array form, disposing a light emitting part in the bottom of each hole and further forming both ends of the optical fibers in spherical form.
CONSTITUTION: A multiplicity of holes 12 in which optical fibers are to be inserted are formed in array form in a light source array substrate 11. A light emitting part 14 such as light emitting diode or semiconductor laser is provided by a diffusion process or the like in the bottom of each hole 12, whereby the light source array is constituted. Ends of optical fibers 20 become spherical 21 and these portions are inserted into the holes 12. The other ends of the optical fibers 20 are also formed spherical 22 and the portions of these spherical forms 22 are disposed in one array perpendicularly to a photosensitive surface 4.
