Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture the rolled product with uniform characteristics, by storing information concerning the correlation between the size of blank and the size of finished product, and by obtaining the deviatin of information about the size of the work being sampled at suitable timing, from above set informatin, and by varying the axial and longitudinal rolling forces.
CONSTITUTION: In the information processing unit CMP, correspondingly to the specifications of the work 1, is set the desired rolling proceeding pattern, that is, informatin INFl concerning the correlation between the outer diameter DA of the work 1 and the breadth H in the axial direction, and information INF2 for instructing the speed of elongation in the outer diameter DA. Besides, the initial value of rolling forces FRA, FAX, are obtained through the theoretical calculation, and are set. After the rolling is started, the outer diameter DA of the work 1 and the measured value of the axial breadth H are read in the information processing unit CMP, and are compared with the stored rolling proceeding pattern, for obtaining the deviation between two. This deviation, as information for controlling the rolling force, is inputted to the rolling force controller of the mandrel 2 and the axial frame 4. According to this method, good products with stable quality can be manufactured at high efficiency.
