Abstract

A tube blank is reduced in a continuous mill while supported on a mandrel, the mandrel being fed forwardly during the rolling. When the whole of the blank has been reduced, the upstream end of the mandrel is held stationary and the rolled tube stripped by rolls 7 from the mandrel. The mandrel is then removed from the mill using drive rolls 6. <IMAGE>
