Abstract

PURPOSE:To appropriately control the temperature of an automobile compartment in a cooling mode despite the stoppage of a compressor and prevent the temperature from becoming much lower than a setpoint in a heating mode in winter. CONSTITUTION:A heater 6 which receives heat from the cooling water of an engine, and an evaporator 5 which is connected to a refrigeration cycle comprising an expansion valve 17, a condenser 15 and a compressor 13 which is driven by the engine through an electromagnetic clutch 14 are istalled in a ventilation duct 7. The quantity of the heating by the heater 6 of the air passed through the evaporator 5 is regulated to control the temperature. The outputs of a temperature setting unit and a temperature detector are compared with each other by a control circuit. Solenoid valves 20, 21 in an atmospheric pipe 23 and a negative pressure pipe 22 of a negative pressure regulator 19 are controlled by the output signal from the control circuit to open or close a damper 8 through a diaphragm actuator 18 to regulate the quantity of the heating.
