Abstract

PURPOSE: To promote cooling efficiency by using boil-cooling refrigerant for the continuous cooling of extruded insulated cable and liquefying gasified refrigerant by a condenser for reuse after removing uncondensed gas.
CONSTITUTION: Boil-cooling refrigerant 9 is contained in a cooling vessel 13 of a continuous cooling system 8 for insulated cable, and a cable 5 is passed and boil- cooled through a boil-cooling part 10 by the refrigerant 9. There are a branched route 14 from the cooling vessel 13, a condenser 15 connected to this branched route, a condensing part 11 to liquefy gasified refrigerant 9 in the cooling vessel 13 to return to the cooling vessel 13, and an uncondensed-gas separating part 12 connected to the condensing part 11 to separate and remove uncondensed gas from the gas-phase refrigerant 9. This construction serves to promote cooling efficiency since cooling is given by the use of evaporating latent heat of boil-cooling refrigerant 9 and uncondensed gas is fractionated and removed.
