Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the wear-proofness of the sliding section of a shaft folk with a chip fixed thereto following formation of a wear-proof layer thereon by weld metal spraying, nitriding or the like. CONSTITUTION:Chips 3 are bonded to a sliding section on both ends of a shift folk body 1 having a shift fork shaft hole 2 formed at the central section thereof. A wear-proof layer with a high hardness is formed at least on the top and bottom of each chip 3. An iron plate, steel bar, cast iron or the like is formed to produce the chip element, while molybdenum or the like as a wear-prrof metal is deposited thereto by gas spraying or the like. The chip 3 is formed into a hexahedron with gaps 3a on one side thereof for example. After the chip 3 is fitted into the end of the body 1, the end 1a thereof is cut to fix the chip 3 thereto. In this manner, it is possible to improve the wear-proofness in the sliding section of the shift folk body ends.
