Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect a trouble of the primary or secondary side of an induction motor, by detecting one optional phase current of each of the primary and secondary sides of the induction motor and processing the wave form of the current to detect primary and secondary current components.
CONSTITUTION: A primary current probe 3 is used to detect one optional phase (V1) current of the primary side of the induction motor 1. The detected current signal is changed into an envelope form 8a through a detection circuit 7 and an envelope circuit 8. The envelope form 8a is entered into a band-pass filter 9 to pick out a pulsating component 2sf. This component is converted into a DC signal by an AC-DC converter 10 to obtain a 2sf level 10a. One optional phase (V2) current of the secondary side of the induction motor 1 is then detected by a secondary current probe 5. The detected current signal 5' is applied to a band-pass filter 11 to pick out a 2f(1-a) component. This component is converted into a DC signal by a converter 12 to obtain a 2f(1-a) level 12a. The output levels 10a, 12a are displaced by an indicator 13.
