Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve lighting efficiency by making a light source, focusing type optical transmission body and the end part of a flexible photonconductor integrally scannable and movable.
CONSTITUTION: A light source 2 consisting of a fluorescent lamp or the like, a focusing type optical transmission body 3 and one end of a flexible photoconductor 5 such as of optical fiber (glass, plastics) or the like are supported by a shield frame 4 and are made integrally scannable and reciprocatable along an original platen 1. Then, if the shield frame 4 is moved along the original platen 1, the light source 2, focusing type optical transmission body 3 and one end of the flexible photoconductor 5 are indegrally scanned and reciprocated and this makes the scanning mechanism simple. In addition, the original image lighted by the lighting source 2 is transmitted and projected onto the surface of a photoreceptor 7 by way of the focusing type optical transmission body 3, flexible photoconductor 5 and focusing type transmission body 8, whereby lighting effect is enhanced and the optical resolution characteristics are improved.
