Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to accomplish the reliable measurement, while absorbing the fluctuations in the length of a thermocouple, by exposing the temperature sensitive portion of the thermocouple to the side of a metal member and by elongating the metal member sliding portion of a well. CONSTITUTION:A thermocouple 1 has its sensing portion 3 arranged to reach the surface of a metal member 2 through the member 2 which acts as a guide when the thermocouple 1 is inserted into a well 4. As a result, the sensing portion 3 is always in contact with a metal member sliding portion 5. On the other hand, the length A of the sliding portion 5 in the well 4 is set in a manner to consider th size error of the length of the thermocouple and the elongation of the same due to the thermal expansion. As a result, if the thermocouple 1 is inserted, the sensing portion 3 never fails to contact with the sliding member 5 so that the accurate temperature measurement can be accomplished.
