Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the defect, such as cracking of initiating part circumference or transformation etc. and to obtain the metal composite materials having a good joining condition, by setting high explosion velocity explosives in and around the initiating part of joining material and also, setting low explosion velocity explosives on the outside and then, initiating from the part of high explosion velocity explosives.
CONSTITUTION: The high explosion velocity explosives 3 having a high explosion velocity (preferably, 2300W3500m/sec) being highest velocity the same or less than the speed of sound of metal plate, is set in and around the intitiating part of the joining material 1, 2 in the extent more than 50mm of radius normally and the low explosion velocity explosives 4 having the velocity from 1500m/sec to about 70% of the speed of sound of the metal plate (preferably, 1700W 2700m/sec) determined by the material and thickness of the metal plate, is set on its outside. The explosives 3 is initiated by using the percussion cap 5 and the booster 6. By the above method, a large impact power is generated in the booster and necessary collision speed and angle for joining between the metal 1, 2, is obtained and non-welded part by pressure is decreased because good explosion transmitting property and sufficient impact power, is produced immediately.
