Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively protect a load circuit from an overcurrent, by providing current detection circuits for the output circuits of a multi-output power supply circuit and by applying a detection signal to a control circuit through an OR circuit to control the input to the power supply circuit when the overcurrent is supplied from some output circuit.
CONSTITUTION: The outputs of a multi-output DC-DC converter 1 are applied to rectifier circuits 5-1∼5-n through the current detection circuits 4-1∼4-n to produce outputs VO1∼VOn, namely, supply currents IO1∼IOn to loads R1∼Rn. The output signals of the current detection circuits 4-1∼4-n are applied to the OR circuit 3, whose output is applied to the control circuit 2. When the overcurrent is supplied from some output circuit, the current detection circuit corresponding to the output circuit produces the detection signal. The detection signal is applied to the control circuit 2 through the OR circuit 3 so that the control circuit 2 controls the multi- output DC-DC converter 1 to cut off the inputs to all the output circuits. The loads are thus protected from the overcurrent.
