Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title catalyst with high polymer yield per transition metal and high stereoregularity with respect to a formed polymer by combining a transition metal cpd. and a specified org. silicoaluminum cpd.
CONSTITUTION: A transition metal cpd. such as a Ti or Cr cpd. supported on a solid carrier is combined with an org. silicoaluminum cpd. of formula I to provide a monoolefin polymn. catalyst. The ratio of a cpd. of formula I to tansition metal atom in the transition metal cpd. is 0.1W1000, pref. 1W100 by wt. Monoolefins to be homo or copolymerized in the presence of this catalyst include ethylene, propylene, 1-butene and 4-methyl-pentene-1. The MW of a polymer is regulated by a known method using H2, etc. In the formula each of R1 and R2 is H, alkyl, aralkyl, aryl or a mixt. thereof, R1=R2≠H and n is a semi-integer of 0W2.5.
