Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent molten slag from entering a ladle, in poruing molten steel from a converter into the ladle, by spraying an inert gas upon the side of the pouring stream from a right-angled direction to scatter molten slag as well as to detect discharge of molten slag owing to a change in stream shape when the pouring molten steel turns into a molten slag stream. CONSTITUTION:After refining work in converter 4 molten steel 2 is poured into ladle 5 through tap hole 1 by tilting converter 4. At this time, inert gas 7 such as N2 or Ar is sprayed upon the side of pouring molten steel stream 6 from a right-angled direction. When stream 6 turns into a stream of molten slag 3, the molten slag stream is scattered and deformed under the same press. of gas 7 since the specific gravity of the molten slag stream is much lower than that of the molten steel stream.
