Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase dust-collecting efficiency by providing a reversing plate in the end part of the cylinder of a dust-collector and at the same time by giving the axial line of the cylinder some angle with respect to the direction of gravity.
CONSTITUTION: Cylinder 1 is provided with clean gas outlet 2. Further, at one end of cylinder 1 is provided with dust-containing gas feeding inlet 3 in the tangential direction, and at the other end is provided reversing plate 4. Slit 5 is provided between this reversing plate 4 and the above-mentioned cylinder 1. The axial direction A of cylinder 1 is slanted by θ degrees with respect to gravity direction B. Dust-containing gas which is fed under pressure in the direction of arrow 3A from feeding inlet 3 of cylinder 1 forms helical flow 14 in cylinder 1. While flowing helically, it strikes reversing plate 14 and is caused to reverse its direction: it enters into the inner side of helical flow 14 and forms helical flow 15 and moves in the direction opposite to reversing plate 4. Dust 16 contained in the dust-containing gas is subjected to the centrifugal force of helical flow 14 and moves along the inner wall of cylinder 1 in the direction of reversing plate 4 under the influence of the axial- direction component of helical flow 14 moving in the direction of reversing plate 4 and enters dust-collecting chamber 6 from slit 5.
