Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent coil seizing and deformation during annealing in manufacture of a non-oriented electrical steel strip, by regulating the Al content of raw steel and hot rolling conditions to lower the finish annealing temp. of a steel strip coil. CONSTITUTION:An ultra low carbon steel contg. C<0.03%, N; 20-60ppm and acid sol. Al; 0.005-0.025% is hot rolled into a plate. The plate is coiled at above 600 deg.C, held at 650-850 deg.C for 30 min-3 hr, and allowed to cool, precipitating fine A N. The coil is pickled, and cold rolling including process annealing is carried out at twice at the recrystallization temp.-800 deg.C to obtain a steel strip of the final desired thickness. The strip is then finish annealed at a relatively low temp. to grow the grains without coil seizing and deformation, thus enhancing the magnetic characteristics of the strip.
