Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of an air fuel ratio sensor, by effecting control to forcibly raise the air fuel ratio above a predetermined value when the air fuel ratio has been lower than the predetermined value for a prescribed time.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel control circuit 16 measures the quantity of fuel to an engine on the basis of signals from an intake quantity sensor 11 and a revolution sensor 15. An air fuel ratio control circuit 20 is added to the fuel control circuit 16. The circuit 20 performs feedback control on the basis of a signal from the air fuel raito sensor 19 so that the air fuel ratio has the predetermined value. The air fuel ratio control circuit 20 comprises a comparator circuit 201 which judges by comparison whether the air fuel ratio signal from the air fuel raito sensor 19 is higher or lower than the predetermined value, and a protection cirucit 205 which judges whether or not the air fuel ratio has been lower than the predetermined value for the prescribed time. When an output is produced by the protection circuit, the air fuel ratio is kept higher than the predetermined value for a second prescribed time.
