Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the turbulence of steam flow and raise the performance of a steam turbine, by providing diaphragms and nozzles with communication holes and sucking steam leaking from a labyrinth packing into the communication holes and positively conducting a part of steam ejected from the nozzles to passages.
CONSTITUTION: The steam turbine comprises the nozzles 10 located between the diaphragms 11, and moving blades 13 jextaposed with the nozzles 10 and implanted in a rotary shaft 12. The labyrinth packing 15, the diaphragm 11 and the nozzles 10, which are assembled with one another on a vertical line, are provided with the communication holes 18. The steam leaking from the packing 15 is conducted to the nozzles 10. Slits 19 are provided at the rear ends of the communication holes 18. The leaking steam is ejected into main steam m0 through the slits. Steam m2 leaking from the slits 19 near the diaphragms 11 is guided into passages 16. As a result, the turbulence of the main steam due to the leaking steam is prevented and the performance of the steam turbine is raised.
