Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to meter the flow velocity, while simplifying the construction, by mounting a pair of temperature sensors in a shielded box, and by protruding a radiator, which is attached to one side, to the outside of the box so that the difference in the electric outputs based on the temperature difference between the two temperature sensors is detected.
CONSTITUTION: Both temperature sensors 2A and 2B are energized by a heating power source 6 so that they may be heated to a preset temperature suitable for the metering operation of the flow velocity in the atmosphere under the same condition surrounded by a shielded box 1. If a wind blows around the box 1, a radiator 4 is esposed thereto so that the heat generated from the sensor 2B is liberated from the radiator 4 to the atmosphere to have its output varied. In case, more specifically, a negative polarity resistance varying element is used as the temperature sensor, the resistance is increased as a result of the reduction in the temperature, the resistance is increased so that a difference is established between the output voltages of the sensors 2A and 2B following the variation in the resistance of the sensor 2B. This different in the outpus is detected by a differential amplifier 3 so that the output is inducated as the function of the wind velocity thereby to make it possible to indicate the flow velocity in an indicator 5.
