Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable writing and reading-out to be performed under optimum conditions by performing the writing and reading-out of information separately with the gaps respectively provided to the air influent end side and influent end side of a slider. CONSTITUTION:Two air paths 2 are provided in the lower part of a slider 1 composed of magnetic material. A writing core 4, winding 5 and gap 6 are provided to the air influent end side 1b which floats higher owing to the movement of a medium 3. Similarly, a core 7, winding and gap 9 are provided to the air effluent end side 1b. Here, the length, number of winding of the gap 6 or the characteristics, etc. of magnetic circuit are so adjusted that the writing may be accomplished under optimum conditions. On the other hand, the magnetic circuit, etc. are so controlled that the reading-out becomes of the optimum conditions. Since this enables both writing and reading-out to be performed under optimum conditions, the efficiency of the writing and reading-out may be improved and high density recording performed.
