Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the temperature rise due to eddy current loss and to decrease the power consumption, by providing a magnetic substance with high saturated magnetic flux density only at one end which opposes to side cores or a center core. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic substance with high saturated magnetic flux density (high B material) 4 is provided only at an end of a center core facing a magnetic gap 3. Thus, the location generating a large magnetic field is not 4 but 2 position. Since the eddy current loss generated in high B material corresponds to the number of high B material to be used, the loss is a half or less in comparison with conventional construction and the temperature rise and the power consumption can remarkably be reduced. The high B material 4 can be provided at the end of side cores 1a and 1b facing the magnetic gap 3, or at the end of the center core 2 facing the magnetic gap 3 at the outgoing side of magnetic recording medium, or at the end of the side core 1a of incoming medium side facing the magnetic gap 3.
