Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve heat exchanging efficiency of cross-finned tube type heat exchanger, by forming a hydrophobic and coarse film upon the fin surface.
CONSTITUTION: In a cross-finned tube type atomspheric heat exchanger, plural number of tubes transverse many number of longitudinal plate fins 1, closely contacts with the fins by expandings etc., and having U bents 3 at ends to form a tube coil heat transferring passage. The heat exchanger, when operated, condenses water as a drop 4 on the fin 1 surface, and increases water dispersion capability of the fin 1 if the drop 4 is let to take more than 90° contact angle against the fin surface. Therefore, a hydrophobic and coarse film with mixture of micro grains as pigments is formed upon the finl surface.
