Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a reclaimed rubber, by kneading and plasticizing vulcanized rubber powder in the presence of a specific organic compound, e.g. a monoarylhydrazine, as a catalyst under heaing in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: 100 parts by wt. of vulcanized rubber powder, e.g. powder comprising 100 parts by wt. of vulcanized rubber and 10 parts by wt. or less of a reinforcing material, e.g. carbon black or silica, is kneaded and plasticized in the presence of 5 parts by wt. or less of a catalyst of one or more types of compounds selected from the group consisting of a condensate of a monoarylhydrazine and aldehyde or ketone, a thiol, or a monoarylhydrazine under heating to give a reclaimed rubber. 10 parts by wt. or less of a plasticizer, e.g. aromatic process oil, may be used together.
