Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively deodorize a rubber melt, by removing a specified amount of a low-boiling oil fraction from the rubber melt produced from heat decomposition of rubber.
CONSTITUTION: A rubber melt produced by heat-decomposing vulcanized or unvulcanized rubber at 220W430°C, is fed to a screw extruder whose vent and/or ejection port are connected to a vacuum equipment, and heating the rubber melt to a temperature of 150W450°C under a vacuum of 1W500mmHg to remove a 2W 25wt%, pref., 8W18wt% portion of a low-boiling oil fraction.
