Abstract

PURPOSE:The title unit, designed to take out powders of many colors automatically, comprising selector valves, to which spray gun hoses of an electrostatic powder coater are connected detachably, and quick joints arranged in matrixes. CONSTITUTION:When the color selecting push-button for color change command 12 is depressed, cleaning air is fed from the air path 4a into the transfer head 6 connected to the color change valve 5 to clean the hose 7 and spray gun 8. The injector cut valve 3 is then turned on to suck the powder coating compound in the booth side hopper 2 into the selector valve 4, and the compound is returned and circulated to the separator 1 via the circulation path 13 with the gun 8 turned off. The positioning pins a, b, ... and A, B, ... corresponding to the commanded color protrude, and the transfer head 6 moves longitudinally and laterally to lock the desired pin, and connects to the color change valve 5. When the gun 8 is triggered, the selector valve 4 is operated to feed the compound to the gun 8.
