Abstract

PURPOSE: To coat the bulb inside with powder uniformly by performing the electrostatic coating in such a way that the powder is injected as it is turned from the nozzle and the bulb is turned in the opposite direction to the turning flow of powder.
CONSTITUTION: The nozzle 2 is inserted into the bulb 1 of fluorescent lamp. The powder of phosphor is fed to the nozzle 2 with compressed air by the powder feed feature, and is jetted with turning flow. Since an electrostatic voltage is applied to across the nozzle 2 and bulb 1, the bulb inside is coated with charged phosphor powder. The nozzle 2 is retreated as it jets the powder. Also the bulb 1 is turned in the opposite direction to the turning flow of powder. Therefore the relative velocity of phosphor powder in the turning direction is made greater, an uniform coating can be accomplished.
